Print-disabled Policy

It is the policy of the University of California Press to provide electronic files of adopted textbooks that have been assigned to the print-disabled. We will provide such a copy free of charge upon receipt of a formal request on letterhead from the student’s campus disability service office. Our main fax number is 510-643-7127. (Please verify that the student has purchased a copy of the book.)

If we are unable to provide an electronic file, it is the Press’s policy to supply a complimentary printed copy to the student’s disability services office only if there is a documented need for more than one book. Otherwise, we will assume that the disability services office can use the student’s copy of the book for this purpose.

Please use this form to submit your desk copy request. All fields on this form are required for processing. A complimentary desk copy will be provided to a professor when 10 or more new books are ordered for course use. Additional desk copies are available for every 20 new copies ordered by your bookstore. Hardcover copies will be provided only when paperback is not available.
